My Story

During my studies in social work and mental health, I was pregnant with my first child and working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. That season of life brought unexpected challenges—I developed Bell’s Palsy during pregnancy, which shook my confidence in ways I didn’t expect.

After my baby was born, my bells palsy slowly went away, but then postpartum hit hard. The long days at home felt isolating, and connections with other moms weren’t as easy to find or build as I imagined. Eventually, my family and I decided that me being at home full-time was best for us—but truthfully, it wasn’t as effortless or “picture perfect” as I thought it would be.

It took a lot of effort (and courage!) to rebuild my confidence. I had to push through anxiety, step outside my comfort zone, and do things that scared me—like asking other moms for their numbers, setting up playdates, and showing up to meet new people.

And you know what? It was worth it. Each step reminded me that connection heals, laughter lightens the load, and friendship makes motherhood brighter.

Now, I want to make that path easier for other women. Through events, socials, and mom nights, my goal is to:

✨ Create spaces where women can laugh, connect, and truly be themselves.
✨ Bring the fun (and the friendships) back—no perfection required.
✨ Remind you that life—and motherhood—are better when shared.

If you’ve ever felt isolated, anxious, or just craving real connection—you’re in the right place. I’m building the community I once needed, and I’d love for you to be a part of it.

About Us

Her Village Socials is a community space for women to connect, have fun, and support one another. From moms-and-kids gatherings to ladies’ nights out, we create events and programs that foster friendship, laughter, and connection. Our goal is to help women feel empowered, seen, and less alone in every season of life.

Hi, I’m Melissa! 👋

I’m a mom of two, a lifelong learner, and someone who knows firsthand what it feels like to be both incredibly grateful for motherhood and completely overstimulated by it. Like so many moms, I’ve had days filled with joy and laughter, and others where the noise, the to-do lists, and the lack of adult connection left me feeling drained.

My Background

I’ve studied holistic mental health and wellness and social work, giving me a foundation in understanding stress, burnout, and the importance of community. I’m also certified in reiki and have explored holistic practices that nurture both body and mind.

But my greatest education has come from life as a stay-at-home mom. The long days, the sleepless nights, and the constant balancing act have shaped me into who I am today. I know what it’s like to crave connection, fun, and meaningful breaks that remind us we’re more than just our routines.

Why I Do This

I created this space because moms deserve more than survival mode. We deserve:

✨ Connection – Real friendships in a judgment-free, supportive environment.

✨ Fun – Lighthearted events like mom mixers, speed-friending, and nights out.

✨ Balance – Experiences that leave us feeling refueled, not drained.

AND it's a bonus I get to take my kids with me while I host!

For You, With Heart

Every event, class, and program is built with real life in mind—because I’ve been there. I know the chaos, the beauty, the mess, and the magic of trying to balance it all. My goal is simple: to remind you that you’re not alone.

Whether it’s a night out, a wellness workshop, or a casual social, I hope you leave with new memories, a lighter heart, and maybe even a new friend. 💕
